Subject:Mcm Birmingham then camber sands
Time:02:32 pm

Hello breakfast!

Not you, not yet anyway, cannibalism isn't something I'm planning for the foreseeable, I just happen to be at woolley edge services (?) on the way to the MCM Birmingham at the NEC this weekend and realised I'd omitted to fuel me or the vehicle. *cue dream-y clutching of post-food tea combined with mellow distance-staring.

Anyway, so the month of events (there should be a better name for this: sadly "Odyssey" is already taken by at least four things I can think of, and yes that clearly does include Tank Girl) continues apace. A fond hello and/or apology to those of you who were waylaid by me or Mav or Clare at the London Super Comic Con, the Sci-fi Weekender or the Leeds Steampunk Market.

So, what's next?

If you're around Birmingham this weekend and need to fill your vision with pretty drawn things then you'll find me and a pile of other small-press comics guys at the MCM Expo at the NEC in an area called "the comic village".

The weekend after that it's the Steampunk Seaside Weekend at Camber Sands which should be a hoot!

After that I think it's Eastercon but right here and now I'm going to stare into the distance and clutch my cup of tea.

Subject:valentines is it? ecard-ery for you!
Time:03:37 am
Once again I've teamed up with the lovely folks at the Steampunk Chronicle to send joyous (and not at all brutal) valentines-y greetings to the people you wish to inform of your dubious intentions:

http://www.steampunkchronicle.com/FrontPage/ValentineseCard/tabid/509/Default.aspx

In other news, hi again! It seems to be the way of things that January is a month I intend to do a thousand things and then it ends too soon. Foo. That said I've set the footing for some truly excellent stuff and we're slowly ironing out the running of the online-shop (apologies to anyone who had to wait a bit for orders in mid-January, we had a few plagues here at the Tower (and even a frog!) and as there's only really me and the lovely Cathy we got a bit back-logged) and of course February is the best month of the year (there may be some subjective bias here).

One thing I'm trying to figure out at the moment is how to optimise my time, notably my drawing-stuff time, so I've finally passed my share of the reins to the Leeds Steampunk Market to my co-conspirator Steve. Which incidentally leaves me more time to draw graphics for the LSM so weirdly there'll probably be more of that ... anyway, the next one is the second weekend in March so if you're free that weekend and fancy seeing a hearty curation of steampunk awesome (and as ever the tea museum! hurray!) then potter along then!

Anyway, as February is here I'm warming up the stall-o-tron for what looks to be a solid month or two of events:

23rd-24th Feb - London Super Comic Con - http://www.londonsupercomicconvention.com/
1st-3rd March - Scifi Weekender - http://www.scifiweekender.com/
9th-10th March - Leeds Steampunk Market - http://www.leedssteampunkmarket.co.uk/
and then probably:
MCM birmingham
Steampunk Camber Sands
Eastercon

so, if you're about I'll see you guys then!

Hello!

Yes, it has been a while since I molested your faces with pointless wittering (for which I can only apologise excessively and in a way that, whilst not my intention, may sound both passive-aggressive and very sarcastic - "I'm soooooooooooo sorry" - see? clearly there must be some kind of maximum quantity of apology anyone can deliver before they sound like they don't mean it, hmmm, I wonder if it has anything to do with the number of 'o's involved?). Anyway, in truth I actually wanted to be sincere for a second: it's only a couple of years ago that I once again tried to make this "drawing crap I like" thing my full-time career and I'm still really touched that you guys have helped me continue in this ridiculous dream. Cheers! You're very lovely people and I just hope I can repay you in some small way by DRAWING EVEN MORE NONSENSE!

Have a very lovely xmas & new year, I'll see you about with more plans and schemes and nonsense next year!

Subject:Halifax shenanigans, e-cards, and the run up to yule
Time:08:21 am
Hello there!

Yeah, sorry I've been away, there's never enough time is there?  Anyway yeah, so we've been busy as biscuits here at the secret fortress of fetish & tea: comics have been composed and created; events have been attended; embroidered badges with kittens and badgers on have been sold and re-ordered and sold again (because fundamentally I didn't remember that people other than me might like kittens and badgers). Anyhoo, the year is coming to an end so there's a few things I should probably shout out to thee:

Our last event of 2012 is another wonderful outing to Legacy Comics in Halifax. In keeping with tradition it's another outing for our non-existent tea-related fake-military organisation "The First Tea Company", and this time as well as the museum and private urn (and therefore private urns delicious supply of tea) the weekend will see the creation by Geof of the first FTC Un-historial portrait: a large drawing of the FTC that will hopefully incorporate as many people as drop by over the 2 days. Bring cake! and maybe milk if we run out. And probably gloves as that place is cold!
15th - 16th december 2012
Legacy Comics, The Piece Hall, Halifax, West Yorkshire, UK

The trusty head-of-operations-minions Cathy informs me that last post for Xmas in the UK is the 20th december, so if you're in the UK and in need of things for the day itself then I'd urge you to try and order stuff before then. That said we do now have the kitten badges back in stock! woohoo!

And finally the magnificent steampunk chronicle should be running some yule-ous e-cards in the near future

Subject:London ho!
Time:12:51 pm

The weekend of hectic continues apace: just had a delightful afternoon's trading at Hoodoo events' Leeds Victorian Xmas Market, am now on a train to the capital for tomorrow's London Alternative Bring & Buy! So London-folk if you need Xmas-ish items, such as fetish-y comics or tea-y embroidered badges or the limited quantities of wrapping paper and tiny tea medals I have on me, you can find us in Tufnell park tomorrow.

Subject:Thought Bubble & the Foxlowe Arts Centre
Time:06:05 am
It's a bit late in the day to shout at thee I'll grant, but the Foxlowe Arts Centre in Leek have been having a brilliant exhibition of steampunk-ish stuffs at the moment, the last day is this sunday but if you can get to Leek then it really is an excellent mix of creators:
and for those who'd like to know a little more there's a lovely review by James Bacon on the Forbidden PLanet International blog:
http://forbiddenplanet.co.uk/blog/2012/steampunk-and-victoriana-exhibition-foxlowe-arts-centre-leek/

Clearly this weekend I and the big fake pop-up museum will be at Leeds' most excellent Thought Bubble festival. TB has grown into one of the best and biggest comic events in the UK so if you're a fan of comic-ry of all flavours, or more specifically would like smutty tea-ish fake-historical comics or posters, or to see the terrifying museum in all its wonder, or wish for a copy of the second Steampunk Literary Review or fetishman #16 (as we're still need to get it out to shops and that) then you'll find us in the Armouries Hall on saturday and sunday this weekend. And if that doesn't persuade you then know that Kate Beaton will be there and I will be trying to quell my urge to be socially inept round her BECAUSE SHE IS THAT GOD-DAMNED AMAZING! (Honestly, my fan-boy-ery isn't something anyone would wish for, it nearly always manifests as awkward incompetence) COME TO LEEDS!

Truly people, it's a weekend out, a bit of Foxlowe, a bit of Leeds, when december hits you'll all be mad busy so now's you're opportunity. It's cool, you can thank me later for planning it all for you!

Subject:Steampunk-ing at the MCM Expo!
Time:04:45 pm
MWAHAHAHAHA! What is it that I'm up to at this London Mcm Expo? Nothing less than shear awesome!

Yep, this time round, as a change to my typical set up with mighty Comic Village guys I, and the tea museum, have been invited to join the Steampunk area!! ALL FOR THE LARKS!! All entirely for the larks I say. Close enough to hurl abuse at my lovely comic-ing comrades but accompanied by the entirety of the tea-museum, this MCM can be nothing less than FEARSOME! Hell, the steampunk area even has a zeppelin flight simulator this time, this MCM's going to be a total laugh.

So yeah, if yer about I'll see you there. And if you need any more persuading to come to London this weekend then there is also the astounding goodness of White Mischief on the saturday evening - I can't make ti this time but feel free to find me on the sunday and make me feel jealous of your good selves.
